your homes purpose
my sweet friend Kate returned from a trip to New York last week and of course we were elated to see each other again and enjoyed a relaxing day by the pool with Amanda and all of our kids and hubby's. Kate's home is super family friendly while maintaining a design aesthetic that never feels like the kids have taken over the space. In our discussions, she mentioned the overwhelming feeling she got from returning home after 7 days in the big apple. It was a contentment, a big breath of fresh air and comfort that literally filled her belly with joy. I knew that feeling immediately. Travelling is so important to us and for our kids but there really is no place like home.
It got me equally thinking about the purpose a home delivers for you and your friends. I love nothing more than to know that my friends can feel at home when they enter our abode. It's also why a simple, clean and welcoming space is so important to our life. The girls are busy and so are we. Our home acts as a space for us to completely unwind. We want less work in all aspects of our personal life. Our gardening days feel a little less therapeutic and more work. With two kids our time is better spent having fun with them. The less items in our home means less things to clean and organize and more time to just enjoy our space.
what purpose does your home serve you?
