apple tarts for all
Ironically when I start to feeling stressed with too much on my plate, I bake. Makes absolutely no sense at all I know. Why would anyone want to take on another task when they already have too many. Its borderline an avoidance tactic and super calming at the same time. I can take full control and see progress in a short 30 minutes- VOILA. This my friends can be very uplifting.
This is what brings me to the tastiest little apple tarts. I love love love pie. I love it much more than I love cake and if I can justify smaller versions of it, you can be sure I will. This tart recipe tastes just like a mini apple pie and comes with slightly less guilt. Pair it with some vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream and well, its just the perfect little treat.
Here is the super simple recipe and I took the easy way out with pre made tart shells (my little time saver)
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
Approximately 4 small apples
1/4 cup brown sugar
Juice of 1/2 lemon (2 tablespoons)
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
6 tablespoons applesauce
1 large egg
Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 30 minutes, cool and enjoy!
